Nathan’s Story Part 1

I keep saying I’m going to get around to writing about Nathan’s birth and I haven’t yet.  So here goes.

His story really starts in December of 2007 when Craig and I decided we were ready to start our family.  We weren’t expecting to get pregnant immediately, but neither were we expecting it would take ten months to see two lines on a pregnancy test.  To read about our journey trying to conceive click HERE.

We decided to wait until Christmas to tell our families.  Keeping such a big secret was fun, but extremely hard.  If you haven’t read them yet, THIS POST and THIS POST tell how we told our families.

We decided a few months into the pregnancy that we wanted to take Bradley Childbirth Classes.  The Bradley classes spanned the course of 12 weeks and prepared us for the natural childbirth we wanted.  About halfway through our classes we switched my prenatal care from the hospital to the Charleston Birth Place.  That was the BEST decision we made to insure we had the birth experience we wanted.

And I’ll post about the birth experience next time I find some time.  🙂  For now it’s off to feed my sweet baby boy.
